Informace k obhajobám závěrečných prací v lednu 2021

English version below

Prezentaci nerozšiřujte, její strukturu neměňte a dodržte časový rozsah cca 5 minut.

Následuje seznámení komise a studenta s posudkem vedoucího a oponenta práce.

Students‘ defence of the Master Thesis will take place on the dates for which the respective department registered them. All defences will be online via MS Teams. Students are asked to familiarize themselves with the Faculty’s Instruction for Online Defences before the defence.

The defence begins with the student’s presentation of the thesis (approx. 5 minutes). The student will present the work’s set goal, the procedure leading to its achievement, and the conclusions reached. Use the department’s template for the presentation during the defence. Do not expand the presentation, do not change its structure and observe the time range of about 5 minutes.

The examination committee informs the student of the reviews of the supervisor and the opponent of the thesis. The student has the opportunity to comment on the reviews. The last part of the defence is answering the questions suggested in the supervisor and the opponent’s reviews. During the defence, it is allowed to have physical prints of the documents provided (e.g. the reviews and the reviewers‘ questions).

The final thesis’s defence must take place even if both the supervisor and the opponent do not recommend the thesis for defence. Suppose the examination committee decides that the submitted thesis will be assessed as unsatisfactory. In that case, it will, at the same time, determine whether the thesis should be rewritten, or whether a new topic of the thesis must be selected, possibly also changing the supervisor of the thesis.
