Notice for Applicants: The IDS program does not have any contracts or partnerships with agencies that claim to assist applicants with the admission process. We provide all necessary information directly to applicants and students.
The 2-year master’s degree program focuses on international politics and foreign policy, with an emphasis on external economic relations. Students graduate with advanced knowledge of international relations and diplomatic law, with a strong emphasis on the ethical and environmental dimensions of decision-making.

September 2026 (Winter Semester 2026/2027)
The next regular intake will start in fall 2025 after the February 2026 intake.
Please submit the e-Application by selecting “Faculty of International Relations – master type of study – C-ID International and Diplomatic Studies.” When filling out the online application, please select the relevant study period.

The Dean may announce a second admission round if the anticipated number of admitted students is not reached in the first round. Should this happen, the application deadline will be April 30th, 2026, and the exam will be held in May 2026.
If the number of enrolled applicants is still not met, the Dean may open an additional round with the application deadline November 30th, 2026, and the exam and enrolment in December 2026 and January 2027, respectively.
Applicants who took the first-round admission exam cannot apply for the same program in the second round.
All graduates of FIR bachelor programs at the Prague University of Economics and Business who complete their program in the academic year 2025/2026 and fall 2026 will be admitted to the IDS master program without an entrance examination. Applicants must submit and fulfill the requirements of the e-application, upload the requested documents, and pay an administration fee. Please note that the e-application must be filled in as “I am a user of InSIS / or a student that has an InSIS login.”
What We Will Assess
In-depth Personal Interview → max. 50 points (min. 25). Conducted either online or in person.
Aptitude for Study → assessment based on a transcript of records from tertiary education → max. 50 points (min. 25).
Only applicants who obtain at least 50% of the points from each part and reach the minimum total point score set by the Dean will be admitted. Admission will be determined by the order of candidates according to their total points.
Interview
Please note that the specific topic for each applicant’s interview will not be self-selected but will instead be determined by the committee. This approach ensures a fair and balanced assessment for all candidates.
The interview determines the applicants’ general overview of current issues in international relations and their ability to critically analyse the topics covered in the following readings:

(Proof of English is not required for native speakers. You can also submit an officially notarized transcript confirming the completion of at least a bachelor’s program taught in English.

For studies completed outside of the Czech Republic or Slovakia, additional steps for recognition of previous education will be required.

Pay the application fee (50 EUR) based on instructions received upon filling in the e-Application.
The admission process is managed through the university’s information system (InSIS). All official communication and documents will be delivered electronically via InSIS.
Note regarding the English requirement: You can provide an officially notarized copy of your transcript of records confirming the completion of at least a bachelor’s program taught in English as proof. Proof of language proficiency in English is not required for native speakers.
