Applications for September 2027 open on 1 November 2026. Round I closes on 28 February 2027, Round II on 30 April 2027. Non-EU applicants: apply in Round I to leave enough time for your visa.

 

International and Diplomatic Studies – Bachelor’s

International relations and diplomacy, with economics at the core. One third of the program is international relations, diplomacy and law, one third economics and quantitative methods, and one third is your choice of electives and languages. You can spend a semester abroad, take an internship, and continue in our master’s program.

Who can apply

  • Secondary education completed, or to be completed before enrolment. If you studied outside Czechia or Slovakia, your diploma has to be recognised before you can enrol.
  • English at B2 level. No certificate needed — we assess it in the interview.
  • No entrance test, essay or motivation letter. Admission is decided by an online interview.

You can apply in only one round. If you take the interview in Round I, you cannot apply again in Round II.

 

How to apply

  1. Fill in the e-application. Choose Faculty of International Relations → Bachelor → B-ID International and Diplomatic Studies, study period WS 2027/2028. Save your login – you will need it again after admission.

  2. Upload a copy of your passport and your secondary school diploma – or, if you have not graduated yet, a confirmation of study.

  3. Pay the application fee (€100). Payment instructions appear once you submit the e-application.

  4. Wait for your interview invitation. We review your application and send the invitation through InSIS. All official communication goes there.

The admission interview

An online interview of about 10 minutes, in English. It has two parts, each worth up to 50 points:

  • Knowledge and motivation – why you want to study IDS, and your general overview of international affairs: current global issues, key institutions such as the UN, EU or NATO, basic political and economic concepts.
  • English – fluency and the ability to discuss academic topics.

You need at least 25 points in each part and a total above the threshold set by the Dean. Applicants are then admitted in order of their total score.

Three things that cannot wait:

  • Confirm your place in your e-application by the announced deadline.
  • Get your previous education recognised as soon as you have your diploma. You cannot enrol without it.
  • Non-EU students: apply for your visa immediately. It takes 60 to 120 days.
