Master’s Program

The 2-year master’s degree program offers courses in international politics and foreign policy, emphasizing external economic relations. Our students graduate with advanced knowledge of international relations and diplomatic law. We also place importance on ethical and environmental dimensions of decision-making.

For the start of the study in September 2024, please submit the e-Application by selecting “C-ID International and Diplomatic Studies. The deadline for the documents in the e-Application is 30.04.2024. The interviews (online) will be held at the beginning of May 2024.

What we will assess

  1. In-depth Personal Interview (online) -> (max. 50 points, min. 25).

  2. Aptitude for study -> statement of current study results of tertiary education (transcript of records) -> (max. 50 points, min. 25).

Interview

Please note that the specific topic for each applicant’s interview will not be self-selected but will instead be determined by the committee. This approach ensures a fair and balanced assessment for all candidates.

The interview determines the applicants’ general overview of current issues in international relations and their ability to critically analyse the topics covered in the following readings:

The admission process is entirely online and doesn’t require physical attendance.

All graduates of FIR bachelor programs of the Prague University of Economics and Business who complete the program in the academic year 2023/2024 will be admitted to the IDS master program without entrance examination. Such applicants are requested to submit and fulfil requirements of the e-application, deliver/upload the requested documents and pay an administration fee.

What to upload with your e-Application

  1. e-Application  (“C-ID International and Diplomatic Studies”)

  2. Passport (copy)

  3. Temporary transcript of records (or the final one)

  4. Proof of English knowledge:

    • TOEFL (at least PBT: 567, CBT: 227, IBT: 87)
    • IELTS 6,0 – 6.5 (Academic)
    • Cambridge English B2 First/FCE
    • another certificate corresponding to the “B2” level of the CEFR.
  5. Certificate of graduation from previous level of study – if already available, or a confirmation of current study. If your study was outside of CZ or SK, please see recognition of previous education abroad. (deadline is September 13)

  6. Pay the application fee, based on instructions received upon filling in an online e-Application.

Note regarding the English requirement: you can also use as a proof an officially notarized copy of the transcript of records confirming completion of study of at least a bachelor’s study programme taught in English. Proof of language proficiency in English is not required from native speakers of English.
