Frequently asked questions (FAQ):

Can I apply for the IDS program?

If you have earned at least a bachelor’s degree, then anyone with deep interest in international relations can apply to the IDS program. You need to be fluent in English, have knowledge of a second international language, send in your application, and pay the application fee.

Detailed information is available in Admission requirements.

How should I start the application process?

Download and fill in the Application form, and send it with all required enclosures by e-mail and post so that it will reach the University of Economics, Prague before end of April. Also, if you are a graduate of a different than Czech or Slovak university, you should start your nostrification process as soon as possible.

Deatailed information is available in How to apply.

Is there anything else important I should know about?

Yes. In case you have graduated/will graduate abroad (i.e. not in the Czech Republic or Slovakia), you will need to “nostrify” (i.e. have recognized) your bachelor’s degree in the Czech Republic.

Note that nostrification is a different, separate process from the application process. (However, you can send all documents required for application and nostrification in one package, if you are a graduate in the economics or similar field. The nostification package will be forwarded from the IDS office to the university’s legal department.)

Detailed information is available in Nostrification of previous education.

What is an Apostille and where can I get one?

Apostille is a certificate that authenticates the origin of a public document. To find out more and to locate an authority that can provide your documents with an Apostille, please refer to the Apostille Section of the Hague Conference on Private International Law.
